to the Treehouse.

It's time to grow up. On the night of their mother's funeral, two estranged siblings spend a night in their childhood treehouse, where secrets come to light in a gust of revelation and old ghosts. This queer film tells about the people in our lives who hold a mirror up and make us feel truly seen.

It's time to grow up. In the dead of night, a single light comes on in a treehouse in the middle of the woods. Henry and Jade have come home. Called back for their mother's funeral, this night is the first time they've seen each other in 4 years.

When Henry reveals the real reason he left home all those years ago, secrets come to light in a gust of revelation and ghosts of the past return to make this night one that will alter the course of the two siblings’ lives and relationship permanently.

HENRY’S KINGDOM brings together a team of LGBTQ2IA+ filmmakers/advocates to re-invent the story of growing up queer in the Midwest in the early 2000s. It aims to subvert the modern belief that our trauma is what makes us, because only by taking ownership over our lives can we be truly free.
